Check connectivity between an endpoint device and authentication server using STAS

You can check the connectivity between an endpoint device and the authentication server in two ways:

  1. WMI verification
  2. Registry read verification

WMI Verification

Use this method if you've configured the workstation polling method as WMI.

  1. Start the STAS application from the desktop or Start menu.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Go to Troubleshooting > STAS Polling Utilities > WMI Verification and enter the IP address of the endpoint device.
  4. Click Test.

    Here's an example:

    A test of WMI connectivity.

  5. A pop-up window shows the result of the test.

    A successful WMI connectivity test message.

Registry Read Verification

Use this method if you've configured the workstation polling method as registry read access.

  1. Start the STAS application from the desktop or Start menu.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Go to Troubleshooting > STAS Polling Utilities > Registry Read Verification and enter the IP address of the endpoint device.
  4. Click Test.

    Here's an example:

    A test of registry read connectivity.

  5. A pop-up window shows the result of the test.

    A successful registry read connectivity test message.
