Set up Android Enterprise

To start managing Android devices, you must register your organization with Android Enterprise and connect your Android Enterprise account with Sophos Mobile.

To set up Android Enterprise, do as follows:

  1. In Sophos Central, go to My Products > Mobile.
  2. On the menu sidebar, click Setup > Google setup and open the Android Enterprise tab.
  3. Click Configure.
  4. On the Register page of the Set up Android Enterprise assistant, click Register account.

    This redirects you to a Google page where you register your organization with Android Enterprise.

  5. Enter your work email address in the Create Admin Account field and click Next.

  6. Depending on the email address you enter, the registration steps may differ. For example, Google shows different steps if your address belongs to a Managed Google Domain enterprise or a Microsoft identity account.

    The following instructions apply if you enter an address that’s not known to Google yet.

  7. Google sends you an email to verify your address. Click the link in the email to verify your address and start the registration process.

  8. Follow the instructions to set up your admin account and register your organization.
  9. On the subscriptions page, make sure that Android Enterprise is selected.

    Android Enterprise is a free subscription. You can select more free or paid subscriptions.

  10. At the end of the registration process, Google returns you to Sophos Mobile.

  11. In Sophos Mobile, enter the email address you just used to create your Android Enterprise admin account.
  12. Click Finalize setup.
  13. On the Android Enterprise tab, Sophos Mobile shows details of your Android Enterprise account.
