App Protection configuration (Android Enterprise work profile policy)
The App Protection configuration lets you protect specific work apps with a password.
The same password applies to all protected apps. Users must set it the first time they open one of the apps.
Due to Android restrictions, users don’t need a password in the following situations:
- They interact with the app via other apps like Google Assistant or via Android system functionality.
- The app runs in a multi-window mode, such as split-screen, floating windows, or tiny windows.
|Password complexity||Password requirements such as minimal length or if the password must contain numbers or letters.|
|Grace period in minutes||The period during which users can open protected apps without a password after they closed a protected app.|
|App group||The app group containing the apps that you want to protect. |
For creating app groups, see App groups.
|Allow fingerprint authentication||Users can use their fingerprint instead of a password.|
