App settings (Windows)
Restriction
Windows 10 Home and Windows 11 Home only support installing apps from the Microsoft Store, not from MSI files.
General settings
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name of the app. |
Version | The app version. For app links, Sophos Mobile uses the version from the Microsoft Store. |
App category | A category name, for example Productivity. |
Description | A description of the app. |
Settings for MSI links
Setting | Description |
---|---|
ProductCode GUID | The ProductCode GUID of the MSI file. If you enter a wrong GUID value, the app can’t be uninstalled. |
Link | The URL of the MSI file. |
SHA-256 file hash | The SHA-256 hash value of the MSI file. If you enter a wrong hash value, the app can’t be installed. |
Installation options | The command-line options for the msiexec.exe installer executable.The default option |

Settings for Microsoft Store links
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Store ID | The Store ID of the app in Microsoft Store. Sophos Mobile fills in the value when you click Get data. |
SKU ID | The app’s SKU ID (stock-keeping unit ID) in the Microsoft Store catalog. Apps might have different SKU IDs for full and trial versions, or for different market regions. If you don’t know the SKU ID for an app, use the default value |
Package Family Name | The Package Family Name (PFN) of the app. Sophos Mobile fills in the value when you click Get data. |
Link | The URL of the app in Microsoft Store. To determine the URL, click Go to Microsoft Store to open Microsoft Store in a new browser tab and navigate to the app page. Then copy the URL from the tab's address bar and paste it into the Link field. After you have entered the URL, click Get data to fill out the following fields automatically:
